Explore the park, enjoy the stunning lights, and discover how Taranaki is leading the way in sustainability. Let’s work together to reduce our impact, whether it’s by packing a reusable picnic, choosing eco-friendly transport options or using our illuminated Zero Waste stations.
This is our chance to show what Taranaki can do—join us in celebrating a brighter, more sustainable future!
Carpool with friends or family, or if you live nearby, enjoy a walk to the park!
If you want to make a night of it, park at Centre City (the first two hours are free during the festival!), and catch our FREE Festival Bus, from Centre City right to the front gate! Running every night except public holidays, from 21 December - 26 January, no other transport gets you closer!
When you’re packing your picnic, include reusable containers, plates, cups and cutlery. Bring a container or bag to take all food scraps and any rubbish home with you. If you’re picking up takeaways, head to a food business participating in the Bring It! campaign, who will pack your takeaways into your own clean container, and may even give you a discount! See npdc.govt.nz/BringIt for the list of participating businesses.
We have everything you need on our website! Instead of asking for paper copies of the brochure you can check back here for updates. We also have amazing wayfinders around the park with all the info you need. So why not find one and take a picture for reference?
Visit our illuminated Zero Waste stations around the park to sort your waste correctly! With the help of our amazing volunteers, supported by NPDC, Sustainable Taranaki, and Waste Management, you can easily dispose of mixed recycling, compostables, glass, and landfill waste.
Check the Festival Map to locate these glowing stations, open every night!
In the coming years, you'll notice several exciting changes as we enhance our sustainability efforts. We invite you to join us on this journey and enjoy the positive impact together.
